Art Explorer Drop In Time
Tuesdays or Thursdays, 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.
Learn about our wonderful world through literature and art. Your artist will cut, paint, weave, and sculpt their way through incredible projects that encourage creativity and imagination. We will explore such media as: sketching, painting (watercolors and acrylic), mosaic, clay, mask-making, and many others.
Join our drawing and painting workshops (dates & times t.b.a.) that will introduce (or re-introduce) a variety of media and techniques for drawing and painting. This class, specifically designed for elementary-aged students, will draw inspiration from colorful art by well-known artists.
To begin, we are offering two classes: Tuesday or Thursdays afterschool from 3:30-5:30pm. If your child is a Centennial Elementary student, they can ride Bus #22 here either day. Please remember to send a note--this will be necessary each time they ride Bus #22. Please remember to pack a snack for your child. I will give the children approximately 15 minutes to decompress, chat and snack before we commence the day's lesson. Please note entrance to the studio is on the right side of our garage and is marked.
The cost will be $55 per month due the first class of every month. For the time being, please make checks payable to: Liz Totton (not HiArt! Studio). I will provide all supplies except I will ask parents to purchase only the most basic (and relatively inexpensive supplies to have at home and some to bring to class: sketchbook, pencils and erasers). I have also attached a link the the Michael's store website where you can purchase these supplies online or print out a 40% off coupon if you choose to purchase them in the store. http://dealspl.us/michaels-coupons. I will also have a few additional supplies available for an "at-cost" purchase should you choose to leave the supply purchase to me.

SUPPLY LIST:
Here are the basic items to include to get your child started. * Asterisked items are optional, not necessary to bring to class but would be nice additions to your young artist's supply box.
-
9 x 12" sketchbook for drawing
-
Drawing pencils
-
Kneaded erasers
-
Tortillion
-
Watercolor colored pencils*
-
Prismacolor double-ended markers (optional but great for your at home supplies.)*
I like to buy higher quality supplies so they last all year and the results tend to be better. The initial investment is well worth the extra dollars. Training the children to respect the art supplies is part of the process of learning how to draw but you will have choices--you will see some very expensive supplies and some much cheaper ones. The choice is up to you.
